2012 CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORTS
The jurisdictional interplay of campaign finance regulation is somewhat fractured in Colorado.  We'll spare you the details, but here's the breakdown:
  • County Candidates and Issues:  Candidates for elective office of Pitkin County, political committees supporting or opposing them, and issue committees supporting or opposing ballot issues and questions referred to a vote of all county electors are subject to the substantive campaign finance provisions of Pitkin County's Home Rule Charter and Title. 
  • Municipal Candidates and Issues:  Candidates for municipal office, and committees supporting or opposing municipal candidates or ballot questions and issues referred to the ballot by municipalities are substantively subject to the campaign finance provisions of the home rule charter or ordinances of the municipality in question, if any.  These candidates and committees file periodic disclosure reports with the city or town clerk of the municipality.  

2012 GENERAL ELECTION



 Important Dates:
    Monday, October 15th - First day county clerk may send mail-in ballots to domestic voters
    Tuesday, October 30th - Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot if ballot is mailed to voter
    Monday, October 22nd - Friday, November 2nd - Early voting is available during the following time and days:
                                                                                Mondays - Fridays, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
                                                                                Clerk & Recorders office 
    Friday, November 2nd - Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot if voter picks up ballot at Clerk's office
    Tuesday, November 6th - General Election Day!  Polling places are open 7 am - 7 pm
